How To Change Verizon Router To 5ghz

5G issues on Verizon Router

edit Does anyone else have a Verizon router and their 5GHz WiFi network drops after a few days of utilise? The network tin can and then only be re-enabled afterwards a reboot of the router.

Verizon support was telling me this upshot was affecting many people afterwards a new firmware update came out. Wanted to see if this was true or not.

The model of mine is FiOS-G1100

OP I'd right your postal service to say 5GHz band instead of 5G network. They mean extremely different things. Also what kind of router?

Thanks, I updated to reflect 5Ghz. I'll update again once I get home to come across the router make/ model.

Yea. There is a few posts on the FIOS sub reddit already. I don't know if there is a fix yet. I had to go out and buy a second router in the hateful time. Cause I just can't deal with it.

My parent's business firm using your same setup has the same problems. We just can't utilise the 5GHz band now because we keep having to reset every few hours.

Support said they would credit me for the months that the issue has been around once a fix is created. Not certain how true that is, only maybe something you lot can employ to get some money back?

Same problems, same router. Started happening near a calendar month ago, mayhap less. Hopefully they set it before long. At this point I'm simply using the ii.4GHz until information technology gets a fix.

It just sucks cause i pay for faster internet, but i think the 5ghz handles the higher speeds.

Yes mine been having issues. Super slow and disconnects sometime

Same issue for me, except just my Verizon phones are unasble to connect (android and Apple), all other devices connect simply fine. Brutal on thee data usage.
